The annual Cannes Film Festival brings the biggest stars to south of France for a week of celebrating the best and brightest on the big screen. From May 14 to May 25, the film industry gathered for anticipated premieres and award ceremonies.

For the 77th year of the festival, ‘Barbie’ director Greta Gerwig was appointed as chair of the international competition jury after her blockbuster success last summer.

There are red carpets almost every day at Cannes, serving many memorable moments from the brightest stars in film.

At Peerless, we picked some of our favorite looks from this year’s festivities. Let us know which was your favorite in the comments!

5.Viola Davis

No stranger to red carpets, the EGOT-award winning actress is a staple on the Cannes guest list. To present the prestigious Grand Prix award at the festival’s closing ceremony this year,

Viola wore a custom Ami black dress with sequins and a white satin ruffled cape, complementing her husband’s white tuxedo.

4.Aja Naomi King

Just like her former ‘How to Get Away with Murder’ co-star, Aja Naomi King was ready to make a statement for her very first Cannes red carpet as an ambassador for L’Oreal. The actress was giving real life Barbie in a stunning gem embellished corset top and bright pink hoop skirt by Miu Miu.

3.Ophély Mézino

Model and ‘Lupin’ actress Ophély Mézino looked stunning in an eye-catching tiered purple ball gown by French designer Christophe Guillarme. The tulle dress with tufts around the bodice and waist flowed into a long voluminous skirt pairing well with her with gorgeous natural fro moment for the spotlight.

2.Alton Mason

Arguably still on a crazy run since becoming the first Black male model to walk for Chanel in 2018, Alton Mason also had his debut at the Cannes red carpet this year. In a LGN Louis Gabriel Nouchi FW24 suit, Alton stunned in a the 50’s Dior-inspired silhouette, complete with an exaggerated small waist and modernized with a subtle head-to-toe earthy print.

1.Kelly Rowland

Not only was Kelly making waves with her red carpet style, she went viral for standing up to an aggressive security guard seemingly only targeting guests of color with forceful treatment. In the famous clip, Kelly wore a gorgeous flowing red dress by Indian designer Anamika Khanna, paired with silver heels by Jimmy Choo.

A moment for these other looks! Styled by Wilford Lenov, the 'Mea Culpa' star stepped the whole weekend.

Kelly takes the crown in our books, but was there another look that deserved the top title? Let us know in the comments below!
