The Essence festival closed on a high note on Sunday with performances by Victoria Monét, fresh off her unforgettable moments at the BET Awards, Janet Jackson, and SWV at the Caesar’s Superdome stage in New Orleans.
The second day of the Essence festival was filled with line dancing, insightful panels on everything from beauty to men’s mental health and a viral linkup as R&B legends rocked the stage.
Things kicked off with a bang Friday night featuring a surprise appearance from Vice President Kamala Harris and a Cash Money reunion, along with performances by Ari Lennox, Jacquees and T-Pain.
The annual Essence Fest celebrated it’s 30th year in New Orleans this past weekend July 5-7. The three day festival put on by the media company includes performances, talks and events for attendees.

Victoria Monét
The Grammy-award winning singer stole the show in her signature two styes, starting off in a striped blazer look inspired the 40s zoot suit revealing a cowgirl look complete with leather details and riding pants.
Regina King
The actress and director gave effortless cool on Sunday, hosting a panel in a clean button down shirt with lapels raised high and tied bandeau style, showing off some skin. The look was balanced out with a relaxed wide-legged jean and statement belt.
Usher
The R&B icon wore several looks onstage for his highly anticipated “Confessions” 20th anniversary performance, including a head to toe leather look, fur coat and cropped moto jacket.
Kamala Harris
Our Vice President showed her love for the Democratic party and channeled the 70s in a sharp cerulean suit with exaggerated lapels and flare leg pant.
Annika Non Rose
The ‘Dreamgirls’ and Princess In the Frog’ star gave real life royalty in a short golden couture gown with a dramatic black lace underskirt.
