THE BEST LOOKS FROM ESSENCE FEST DAY 2

Writer's picture: Taya CoatesTaya Coates

The second day of the Essence festival was filled with line dancing, insightful panels on everything from beauty to men’s mental health and a viral linkup as R&B legends took the stage.

Fresh off of unforgettable moments at the BET Awards, Usher and Victoria Monét hit the Caesar’s Superdome stage in New Orleans for the festivities.

Things kicked off with a bang Friday night featuring a surprise appearance from Vice President Kamala Harris and a Cash Money reunion, along with performances by Ari Lennox, Jacquees and T-Pain.

The annual Essence Fest celebrated it’s 30th year in New Orleans this past weekend July 5-7. The three day festival put on by the media company includes performances, talks and events for attendees.

At Peerless, we’ve picked some of our favorite looks from the second day of the festivities below.

Morris Chestnut

The guys owned day two, making bold fashion moves on the red carpet from the start of the day. The “The Best Man” actor popped out in a cool olive suit and undeniably pulled the statement look off.

Coleman Domingo

Known for his clean retro-influenced style, Coleman Domingo’s look on Saturday did not disappoint. Sporting a mesh top paired with a fitted jacket with contrasting white lapels and flare pants with rope design tuxedo stripes.

Pretty Vee

We missed this look on day one but it was too fly to not include! Pretty Vee showed up to her segment in a punk influenced look, wearing a vintage graphic tee and patchwork jersey skirt with lace details.

Serena Williams (again!)

The tennis icon’s stylist has been working overtime this summer for every moment of her press run. For the second day she stunned keeping it simple in a satin corset bodycon dress.

Megan Good

The iconic actress gave us major vacay inspo in this floral embroidered halter dress paired with golden platform heels for a pop of color and boho braids.

Let us know which looks were your favorite below!
