The Essence Festival kicked off with a bang last night featuring a surprise appearance from Vice President Kamala Harris and a Cash Money reunion, along with performances by Ari Lennox, Jacquees and T-Pain.
The annual Essence Fest is celebrating it’s 30th year in New Orleans this weekend July 5-7. The three day festival put on by the media company includes performances, talks and events for attendees.
Fresh off of unforgettable moments at the BET Awards last weekend, Usher and Victoria Monét are both set to hit the Essence stage later in the weekend.

Ari Lennox
The “Shea Butter Baby” singer pooped out on stage in a Laquan Smith denim bodysuit with full flowing sleeves. Ari paired the look with rose gold thigh high boots from Mary J Blidge’s recent collaboration with Giuseppe.
Serena Williams
The G.O.A.T. spoke to an audience of adoring fans in a chic Gucci matching blazer set. Serena shared about her experience developing her new line of beauty products built for an active life.
Lil Wayne
Weezy repped Young Money onstage rocking head to toe black look. The rapper paired breathable flowy flares and a Balenciaga graphic long sleeve with a signature bucket hat.
Reyna Roberts
The country singer-songwriter followed suit in an all black NAMILIA bodysuit with mesh and leather panels. Her standout look was styled with a matching cowboy hat and Sexyy Red inspired waves.

Ahead of her upcoming album rollout, the queen of Y2K style wore a belted denim dress for her performance at the Essence Fest. JT brought out Natalie Nunn and the Baddies to join her onstage.
