Just miles away from the location of the 2024 Olympic games at the UNESCO rooftop in Paris, Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2025 Menswear collection told a story of the world’s creation. Surrounded by flags from each corner of the world and graced by the Voices of Fire choir, models circled a massive globe in a mirage of unity.
The collection opened intently in all black, taking it back to the basics of design and doubling as metaphor for the origin of all life on the planet. It was key tailoring was the star from the moment the first sharp suits and smooth logo-embossed velvet sets hit the runway accented by Black Panther berets.
Pops of a transparent material tinted licorice red against the first looks in black laid the ground work for the remainder of the collection, proving to be one of the most memorable details, along with pops of a lush blush pink.
Sequin embroidery and trims throughout added a bit of feminine whimsy to the otherwise practical collection, emphasized by sheer looks and reflective head to toe fabrics.
Pharrell continued to stay in his zone of vintage influence, highlighting the old hollywood angle for this spring rendition. Breezy relaxed flare track pants and psychedelic fur coats were standout nods, along with a silky smoking jacket set.
A universal theme was clear in the rich earthy color palette and echoed in “The world is yours” in French on the back of tees with a globe motif. In various graphic renditions in quality from a realistic map to a pixelated pattern, the worldwide idea paired perfectly with the colorful checkered leather pattern on the bags throughout the collection.
Utility at LV remained a priority, with clean pilot coats, bomber and safari jackets remaining as staples of the brand. Models in work button downs even rowed the brand’s signature chests across the field to directly express the importance of interconnectedness across nations.
Pharrell closed his fourth show four Louis Vuitton by bringing out his staff in one more attempt to spread his warm message of celebrating diversity and unity.
