Fashion’s long tense tie to racism and discrimination can create a jaded outlook on the industry, but that is why supporting Black brands is essential to the future of fashion.
About 10% of fashion and accessory brands are Black-owned, but fewer than 1% of brands sold at U.S. retailers are owned by diverse founders, according to Frenchye Harris, founder of the Black Fashion Movement.
Instead of working hard to support brands who don’t support us, we can utilize our resources to elevate creatives in our own community.

"Stand Out" is the philosophy of the Charlotte-based brand based on eye-catching graphics.
Founded by Jabari Powell, the up-and-coming group has also expanded to kids design.
Lucid Loverz
Known for their coordinating sweatsuits, Lucid Loverz has taken over the south. Their standout distressed tuft logo and bright graphics have created high demand.
