Prada has entered new territory as they’ve announced one of their latest and most exciting designs - a spacesuit. The spacesuit made in collaboration with Axiom Space was designed specifically for the next astronaut’s expedition to the moon. The mission titled “Artemis III” is expected to take place in September of 2026 and will be led by a diverse crew including a woman and a person of color. The occasion is already set to break records and fashion is only one of them.
Although the emphasis isn’t on visual logo branding, this is a huge milestone for Prada. Conversations about science and designer fashion usually don’t coexist, so this is momentous both for the brand and the industry as a whole. Matt Ondler, Axiom Space President describes the novelty and impact of the collaboration, “We have broken the mold. The Axiom Space-Prada partnership has set a new foundational model for cross-industry collaboration, further expanding what’s possible in commercial space.” The creation of the “Next Generation Spacesuit” required expert knowledge in both areas to ensure a final product that's not only visually appealing but has amazing functionality.
